Björn Borg presents menswear Fall/Winter 08 collection – play the game

The Fall/Winter menswear collection from Björn Borg gets its inspiration from an updated 70’s boot camp. But in this case the boot camp is all about the game. It is about playing the game with charm, sweat and tears. It is about friendship and facing the challenge together. The collection also carries signs of the great achievements by Björn Borg, celebrating his 5 wins at Wimbledon, his 6 Roland Garros’ and his 109 weeks in a row as number one-ranked number tennis player in the world. Another sporty friend from the era is Mr. Ingemar Stenmark, one of the world’s leading skiers, who has served as an inspiration for the knitted part of the collection. “The collection celebrates true sportsmanship. We have designed a wardrobe that takes you on a journey and lets you discover your true potential”, says Björn Borg’s Creative Director- Peter Simonsson.

The silhouette is slim but with a comfortable fit. The style is a mixture between the military and sports of the 70’s. All are made contemporary. Jackets are characterized by big Vislon zippers making sure that your belongings stays put. A knitted program with a retro-alpine look and sweaters, caps and gloves in wintry materials trimmed with deer in eccentric yellow.

Corduroy, ready steady mesh. Single jersey, pike, French terry, WCT, heavy satin and denim.

Capers green, navy, pale khaki, off white and accents of dust yellow. Colors are subtle yet generously blended.

Five-pocket trousers in denim and heavy satin, cotton polo’s in mesh and one by one rib, sweaters with color blocks. Classical knitted sweaters.
